Live attack tests on Gilgen Security Shutters to feature at IFSEC International

30. May 2017

Gilgen Door Systems is partnering with World renowned standards agency BRE to facilitate a series of live attack demonstrations featuring its high security shutters at IFSEC International, 20-22nd June.

Visitors to the show, located at London’s Excel centre, will be able to compare the performance of Gilgen high security shutters to that of standard industrial shutters across a variety of simulated attacks including the use of powerful hand-held tools.

Commenting on the show David Cerquella, Managing Director of Gilgen Door Systems said “For the first time live LPCB test demonstrations are being made available to the public and we are delighted to give visitors to the show the opportunity to experience the strength of Gilgen high security shutters first hand. Visitors will gain an appreciation of the stringent nature of the LPCB test program conducted by experienced test engineers and the need for security shutters in today’s high threat environment to repel various forms of attack”.

Gilgen Door Systems offers the widest range of independently tested high security shutters on the market and is the only company to offer security shutters tested to the European Security Standard EN1627:2011 as well as models tested to the UK loss prevention standard LPS1175, issue 7, level 2-5.

On stand C1500 Gilgen will display its Rolegard SR5 security shutter which combines the highest level of tested security on the market with unrivalled ballistics and blast protection performance. With ballistics performance tested to FB3 and FB4 standard, Rolegard SR5 is designed to target-harden key infrastructure and high risk facilities including banks, stadium, government offices and military buildings from the threat of criminal or terrorist attack.

Selected SR3, SR4 and SR5 shutters in the range incorporate an Automatic Self Locking (ASL) system which eliminates the requirement for secondary locking and reduces the risk of a security breach through human error. A wide range of application matched options is also available.

Other solutions on display include the SLX-M RC2-3 attack resistant automatic sliding door which helps protect ‘front of building’ pedestrian entrance ways. Tested to EN1627:2011 standards and assessed to conform to the security requirements of PAS24:2012, these reinforced doors offer a remarkably strong yet invitingly transparent solution suitable for a range of residential and commercial buildings including jewelers, pharmacies, offices, banks and care homes.

Visitors to the Gilgen stand will gain advice on a comprehensive range of powered doors systems designed to secure the entire building envelope.
