Gilgen Door Systems @ BIG 5 Show, Dubai
On Monday, 5th November 2012, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially opened “The Big 5” in the World Trade Center in Dubai (UAE).
27. May 2016
With a history going back more than 30 years, The Big 5 has established itself as the main construction trade fair in the Middle East, and functions as the regional hub for maintaining existing business relationships and cultivating new ones. This year saw participation by 2,500 exhibitors from 70 different countries, including 27 national pavilions.
Gilgen Door Systems was proudly represented by its 72m2 stand in the Zabeel Hall. Together with our regional sales partners from the United Arab Emirates, Swisscotec and Select Partitions, along with Abbas Biljeek from Bahrain and Automatic Solutions from Kuwait, we exhibited, over the four days of the event, an SLX-B fire-safety door, an STW2 sliding wall system (collapsible), an SLX BO TO escape route door and a Flush-type sliding Door.
The international public that we were pleased to welcome to our stand showed great interest in our products and was impressed by their quality. It has once again been made plain just how toughly-disputed our market is, and how strongly our competitors operate on an international level.
Apart from the fact that we were able to position the “Gilgen” brand and provide our dealers with active support, the event helped to open up new markets for us. Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Pakistan or Jordan were represented by numerous architects, contractors, suppliers of building frontages and other interested parties, which gave us a chance to find, among these many contacts, new business partners in these areas of the world.
It is mainly for this reason that we can already confirm that Gilgen’s participation in The Big 5 has been a great success. We need to demonstrate that Swiss Quality has its place on the market, and that we are able, via our sales partners, to provide the end-customer with the perfect combination of door automation and architectural design.
